LET'S GO WEST!!!
If this is your first visit to the TEENS WESTWARD BOUND web site….. We are glad you are here!! This site is primarily for past participants and current participants that have been fortunate enough to be selected for this summer’s experience. Family members and those that have been accepted to the incredible TWB program this summer (2010) will find some “fun facts” too as you surf our site. If you have been accepted to the 2010 Trek 2 program please look at your blog to see the updates on your new game show in Hollywood. Sorry Trek One, they are still trying to get a taping for you guys.
The dates for this simmer’s 2010 Teens Westward Bound program will be from June 19th until July 11th for the first TWB experience. The second TWB Trek dates are from June 21st until July 13th. We will meet at Davidson College on those dates between 9 and 9:30 am and will return at 5 pm. We will meet in the lower part of the parking lot at Baker Sports Complex on the Davidson College campus.
BIG NEWS!!!! Three years ago the Teens Westward Bound Program developed an online TWB day by day “Travel Blog”. During the twenty-day experience of traveling our great country last summer our friends and family were able to visit the Teens Westward Bound web site each day and see pictures and journal entries that were written by the participants. To say that it was viewed constantly is an understatement. During our twenty-three day jaunts across America we receive over 268,000 unique page views each year!! Even thought we didn’t talk to them every day our friends and family watched us every day. At the top of this page click on the TRAVEL BLOG of one of the treks and you will be able to go to each day and relive a day in the life of a 2010 TWB’er.
As always it was great seeing all the past participants see TWB 2009 off last summer at Davidson College. We hope that the send off this year will be even bigger and better. Only the candidates that have been recommended by past participants are allowed to apply for the Teens Westward Bound program. If you are a past participant and would like to recommend someone for next year then please go the Recommendation section of this website. We will be sending out letters of invitation for new applicants in early January of 2011.
Please feel free to browse this official TWB Homepage. We have some new things that we think will be helpful, such as the FAQ section for parents and friends of the 2010 participants. We will be posting the 2011 information within the next several months. Come back often because our webmasters (Denny and Grant) are constantly adding and changing things.
